Omniya Trust is currently working with the Farrukh Foundation on two fronts. We have issued grants to help the foundation with their medical and rehabilitation services for patients with skeletal deformities caused by birth defects and the polio virus, in particular the condition of equinus foot (similar condition to club foot). Please read the Farrukh Foundation project page for further details.
We are now also helping to finance vocational training places in their skill development centre. Computer, tailoring and beauty courses are available. The aim of the training courses is to economically empower the disabled, with a focus on young females, giving them the means to work or start their own home-based business. Unfortunately, these girls are often viewed as an unwelcome financial burden by their families. The centre has trained 200 disabled girls, rewarding them with the prospect of a brighter future. Help us to create more opportunities for these girls, a donation of just £75 will fund a 3-6 month training course.
