Baby Ali, 15 weeks old, born with club feet. This brave little boy was brought to the Farrukh Foundation clinic by his father, Naveed Haider. The treatment for club foot should start within the first few weeks of birth but due to his father’s low-income, casual construction job this was not possible. Ali’s father sought help from the clinic where he was told by the doctors that where his son’s treatment was concerned, they would only ask one thing of him, “You just bring him to us for his appointments, we will do the rest.”

Ali’s 7 month treatment programme will involve physiotherapy with gentle manipulation and stretching of his feet into a better position after which they are put into a cast. This process will be repeated every week. After the last cast is removed most babies need a minor operation to loosen the Achilles tendon at the back of their ankle to help release the feet into a more natural position.  For the first 3 months after treatment Ali will need to wear special boots to prevent the club foot from returning.  These will also be supplied by the Foundation which has its own workshop facility. Any further equipment or occupational therapy Ali needs will also be provided.

The invoice shows his treatment will cost approximately £500. With your help Omniya Trust paid for Ali’s treatment. With your help we can pay for many more babies like Ali, born with a problem, but with your support not defeated by his problem. Donations change lives, your donation has changed Ali’s life.
